Sisusaathi Prakalpa: Free Critical Care for Children
The Sishusathi Prakalpa is a noteworthy healthcare initiative launched by the Government of West Bengal to provide completely free-of-cost treatment, including complex surgeries, for children suffering from specific critical ailments. The primary objective is to ensure that no child in the state is deprived of essential medical care due to the financial inability of their families. Initially focused on cardiac surgeries, the scheme has expanded its scope to include other critical conditions, significantly reducing the infant and child mortality rate in the state.
